WHO WE ARE
Baltimore NoiseMakers is a hands-on STEAM education group working at the intersection of music and making.
We design engaging, experiential learning programs that use musical instrument building as a gateway into science, engineering, art, and culture.
Led by professional educator and guitar builder Nick Wilson, Baltimore NoiseMakers is a small, passionate team that believes deeply in the power of music, craft, and hands-on learning to spark curiosity and confidence. We specialize in K–12 education, with experience working across all age groups, and tailor our programs to meet learners where they are.
We have a proven track record, partnering with local institutions including Enoch Pratt Free Library, Baltimore City Schools, United Way, the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology, and more.
WHAT WE DO
We provide interactive workshops and long-form programs that explore:
The science of sound and acoustics
Design thinking and engineering principles
Local and regional music traditions
Workforce development and maker skills
STEM concepts grounded in real-world, creative applications
Our programs are delivered in partnership with schools, libraries, community organizations, churches, music programs, summer camps, and public events. Each lesson is tailored to make learning accessible, relevant, and culturally resonant.
THE NOISEMAKERS MISSION
Baltimore NoiseMakers exists to make learning exciting, transformative, and accessible by connecting STEM education to music, culture, and hands-on making. By blending engineering, art, science, and tradition, we take a holistic approach to foster curiosity and confidence in learners of all ages. By rooting education in cultural context and tangible outcomes, we help students see themselves as builders, problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and noise makers.
